Hangul & Pronunciation 1
Reading practice joins the three skills: splitting a block, saying the block, and applying sound changes across the word. Short greetings and signs are the best place to start.
Hangul & Pronunciation — Jamo, syllable blocks, batchim and the basic sound changes.
Reading Hangul means three steps: split the block into initial, vowel and final; say the block; then apply the sound changes across the word. Start with short, common words and only then move to sentences.
हंगुल पढ़ने का अर्थ तीन चरण हैं: खंड को आरंभिक व्यंजन, स्वर और अंतिम व्यंजन में बाँटें; खंड बोलें; फिर पूरे शब्द में ध्वनि परिवर्तन लागू करें। छोटे और सामान्य शब्दों से शुरू करें और उसके बाद ही वाक्यों पर जाएँ।
안녕하세요 (hello), 감사합니다 (thank you), 죄송합니다 (I am sorry), 반갑습니다 (nice to meet you). Read each block first, then say the whole greeting smoothly.
안녕하세요 (नमस्ते), 감사합니다 (धन्यवाद), 죄송합니다 (क्षमा करें), 반갑습니다 (आपसे मिलकर अच्छा लगा)। पहले हर खंड पढ़ें, फिर पूरा अभिवादन सहज रूप से बोलें।
저는 인도 사람이에요 (I am Indian). 한국어를 공부해요 (I study Korean). 오늘 날씨가 좋아요 (The weather is nice today). Apply liaison in 사람이에요 [사라미에요] and 좋아요 [조아요].
저는 인도 사람이에요 (मैं भारतीय हूँ)। 한국어를 공부해요 (मैं कोरियन पढ़ता हूँ)। 오늘 날씨가 좋아요 (आज मौसम अच्छा है)। 사람이에요 में संधि [사라미에요] और 좋아요 में [조아요] लगाएँ।
Public signs repeat the same blocks: 출구 (exit), 입구 (entrance), 화장실 (restroom), 커피 (coffee). Recognising these four words makes a first walk through Seoul much easier.
सार्वजनिक संकेतों में वही खंड दोहराए जाते हैं: 출구 (निकास), 입구 (प्रवेश), 화장실 (शौचालय), 커피 (कॉफ़ी)। इन चार शब्दों को पहचानना सियोल में पहली बार घूमने को बहुत आसान बना देता है।
Beginners read the romanisation in their head and skip the batchim, so 집 becomes "ji" instead of "jip". Read the Hangul itself, and pronounce the final consonant softly but do not drop it.
शुरुआती लोग मन में रोमन लिपि पढ़ते हैं और बतचिम छोड़ देते हैं, जिससे 집 "ji" बन जाता है, "jip" नहीं। स्वयं हंगुल पढ़ें और अंतिम व्यंजन हल्के से बोलें, परंतु छोड़ें नहीं।
Read one short paragraph aloud every day, pointing at each block. Speed comes from repetition; accuracy comes from saying every final consonant.
हर दिन एक छोटा अनुच्छेद ज़ोर से पढ़ें और हर खंड की ओर उंगली रखें। गति दोहराव से आती है; शुद्धता हर अंतिम व्यंजन बोलने से आती है।
