A short shopping account with items, counters, a unit price and the total paid. Read the numbers and the counters carefully.
Graded Reading — Short levelled passages with comprehension questions, TOPIK 1 to 6.
This is a short shopping account: place, items, price and payment. Read the numbers carefully because the question often depends on them.
English: I went to the market yesterday. I bought three apples and one bottle of milk. The apples were one thousand won each. In total I paid four thousand won.
Market conversations, receipts, a message to a family member about what to buy, and simple price questions in a shop.
Do not confuse 개 (general counter for things) with 명 (people). 천 원 is one thousand won, not one hundred. 모두 means in total, while 조금 means a little; they are not interchangeable.
The counters 개 and 병 tell you what is being counted even when the noun is omitted.
TOPIK I listening and reading items pair a price with a quantity. Note whether the question asks for the item, the number or the total; the three answers use different words.
